Quilt for Marin

My little great-niece, Marin, likes turtles. I made a template of the turtles and then appliqued the turtles onto this quilt top. I'll quilt it when I get home. I used "thread painting" in the corner for grass. Hmmmmmm, should I put eyes on the turtles . . . ?

Scenes from Mercersburg Academy

This first picture is President Buchanon's house, now a B&B where Jeff and Josh stayed when they visited the school last month.

The rest are various pictures of the campus. Isn't the cathedral so totally impressive?

Good work, Josh, getting into this great school!

God willing and the creek don't rise

So other than a break from the rain when we toured Josh's school Saturday morning - more on that later - it started raining when we stopped in Mercersburg, and it rained and it rained and it rained and then it rained some more.

Check out the creek when we walked the dogs on Friday, here it is on Sunday. I love the rain and I was happy to stay in one place for a few days so I could do some sewing but we started getting a bit concerned when Harvey began listing to the right. By the time
we left Mercersburg, he was six inches in the mud. Jeff was convinced he would get stuck in the mud but Harvey pulled out of it like a champ!

When the rain lightened up on Tuesday, we took off. Into more mountains, of course.
